La cantante Lady Gaga fue la artista más nominada de la noche, con 12 nominaciones, y se llevó cuatro trofeos de «persona lunar», lo que eleva su total a 22.

Carpenter fue coronado álbum del año y presentó junto a un grupo de drag queens y bailarinas trans con carteles que decían lemas como «en las personas trans confiamos» y «protege a las muñecas».

Grande se llevó los premios al video del año, video de larga duración y mejor video pop por Brighter Days Ahead, agradeciendo a su padre por su cameo.

Explicó en su discurso de aceptación que su trabajo reciente la había llevado a centrarse diariamente en «sanar todo tipo de traumas».

La artista Mariah Carey ha recibido el premio Video Vanguard en la gala de los Premios MTV VMAs 2025.

Además, en el show también deleitó a los invitados de los MTV VMAs 2025 con varias canciones.
